Our story
Three generations at the stove.
Cretan Corner is a family taverna in Piskopiano, the old village on the hill above Hersonissos. The Marakis family has cooked here for three generations — the same terrace, the same view of the sea going dark.
Yiayia Eleni never wrote a recipe down; they live in the family’s hands and in what the island gives that week. The kleftiko still gets its slow afternoon, the wine still comes from the barrel.
You get the table for the whole evening. Nobody is waiting for it. Raki comes at the end, and the sunset is included.
